GET WELL SAM OFFICIAL WESBITE www.sam-ashaolu.com

Sam Ashaolu, is one of the five Duquesne basketball players struck by a bullet in front of the University Dormitory on Sunday September 17th . The 23 year old Toronto Native remains in critical condition, after a bullet shattered into 3 sections of his head, as well as another bullet wound to the back of his neck.
Ashaolu and his teammates were returning from a social event on campus when they were confronted by a man who had been disruptive at the party. When their attempts to pacify him were unsuccessful, they decided to walk away. As they turned their backs, the man opened fire. Several other players who rushed to their aid were also shot.
Ashaolu and fellow teammate and victim Stuart Baldonado; a 21 year old transfer from Miami Dade College, who was shot in the elbow and shoulder both remain hospitalized in critical condition. Their peers Shawn James, 23, who was shot in the foot, Aaron Jackson who was shot in the Hand, and Kojo Mensah, 23, have all been treated and released.
The incident apparently stemmed from an earlier disruption at the party and what one of the wounded and several witnesses describe as jealousy. The alleged gunman, who was not a university student, became enraged when a female linked to him began flirting with the players. A confrontation ensued, which continued after the party and resulted in violence.
The assailants, who are apparently not unknown to Pittsburgh Police, are named in arrest warrants issued Tuesday, 19th ; William Holmes and Brandon Baynes, both 18. Both gained entry to the dance as part of a group. Nineteen year-old Duquesne sophomore Brittany Jones, an active member of the Black Student Community aided and abetted the men to gain entry to the social event.
Brittany Jones was arrested on September 18th and charged with reckless endangerment, carrying a firearm without a license and criminal conspiracy for her role in assisting the perpetrators (non students) to enter the party bearing arms. It is believed that she had been requested by a friend to gain entry for him and his brother who subsequently arrived with four other non related men
Jones, whose mother works for the college as a campus drug and alcohol counsellor, only began to cooperate with police after she was arrested and charged Monday night; told Police the identities of those in the group.
Brandon Baynes was arrested on September 18th in Pittsburgh and an arrest warrant has been put out for Holmes. Both have been charged with reckless endangerment, carrying an unlicensed firearm and criminal conspiracy and five counts of attempted homicide.
